About Us

Tessera is a family-owned retreat founded and operated by Stratis, Lena and Dimitris. Born from a deep love for Tinos, our four villas bring together contemporary island living and a lasting connection to the place we call home.

We believe that the quality of a stay begins with the people and the land behind it: the farmer tending a grove, the maker working with marble, the producer bringing a harvest to the table. Their knowledge, care and creativity are part of what makes Tinos special.

Our ambition is to bring those connections into the heart of hospitality. A beautiful home, a thoughtful meal and a piece of art can each create an opportunity for the island and its people. Our promise is simple: luxury made by locals, that gives back to locals.

Pomegranate, olive, fig and carob give Tessera its four villa identities. They also tell a wider story about the relationship between cultivation, home and hospitality. The tree, the harvest and the shared table connect the experience of staying here with the life of the island around it.

Set into the hillside, Tessera’s whitewashed forms open through private courtyards and terraces towards the sea. The wider outlook reaches towards Delos, Mykonos and Syros.

The architecture takes its cues from the terrain, natural materials and the changing light. Indoor and outdoor spaces bring you into the rhythm of the island, with room to gather and places to find a moment to yourself.

We source honey, dairy, wine and seasonal produce directly from Tinian farmers and producers. These relationships bring the island’s flavours to your table and help keep the value of hospitality within the local community. We want to build lasting partnerships that give producers the confidence to plan, grow and continue their work.

We see each villa as a home for Tinian creativity. Traditional pottery, marble work and contemporary art connect the spaces with the island’s craft heritage and the people carrying it forward. By creating a place for their work within Tessera, we aim to support local makers and give guests a closer connection to the hands behind each piece.

Our commitment extends to the landscape that sustains island life. We support local agrotourism and investment in sustainable farming and cultural preservation, helping care for the cultivated land and traditions that give Tinos its character. We want our presence here to contribute to their future.
